Metro's board of directors has allocated $250,000 for an emergency relief fund for the families of people killed in Monday's train collision and people injured in the crash.

The resolution was adopted Tuesday at the end of an emergency board meeting. Most of the meeting was held behind closed doors.

Nine people, including one of the train operators, were killed in the crash.

The fund is meant to assist with funeral, medical and other immediate expenses.
